This Fee schedule/Administration rate forms part of the Mirat Membership Agreement and sets out the administration fees charged by Mirat Cultural Rights Ltd for the services it provides. Administration fees are only deducted from royalties successfully collected or income generated through the services authorised by the member, unless otherwise agreed in writing. Mirat only earns an administration fee when it successfully collects royalties or income on your behalf. You always retain ownership of your copyright unless you expressly assign it in a separate written agreement.
No joining fee – No annual membership fee – You keep 100% ownership – Mirat takes an administration fee when royalties are successfully collected, and part of the administrative fee will be reinvested into annual grants for Kurdish music creators.
1. Publishing Administration: Mirat administers the publishing rights you authorise us to manage, including registering works, processing ownership information, claiming royalties, and collecting publishing income. Administration Fee: 20%
2. Digital Distribution Administration: Mirat manages the distribution of authorised recordings to digital music services and collects income generated from those platforms. Administration Fee: 15%
3. Neighbouring Rights Administration: Mirat registers recordings and performer rights with relevant neighbouring rights organisations and collects eligible royalties. Administration Fee: 15%
4. Licensing Administration: Where authorised, Mirat negotiates, processes, or administers licences for the use of your music. Administration Fee: 20%
5. Synchronisation Licensing: Where Mirat secures or administers synchronisation licences for film, television, advertising, games, online media, or other audiovisual uses. Administration Fee: 25%
6. Additional Services: Specialist services outside Mirat’s standard administration, including catalogue audits, royalty recovery projects, legacy catalogue management, or bespoke consultancy, may be offered under a separate written agreement. Any applicable fee will be agreed in advance.
7. Third-Party Deductions: Some royalties may already have administration fees, commissions, taxes, bank charges, currency conversion costs, or other deductions applied by third-party organisations before payment reaches Mirat. These deductions are outside Mirat’s control and are separate from Mirat’s administration fees.
8. Royalty Statements: Each royalty statement will clearly identify:
- Gross royalties received;
- Third-party deductions (where applicable);
- Mirat administration fees;
- Taxes or bank charges (where applicable);
- Net royalties payable.
9. Changes to Fees: Mirat may review this Fee Schedule periodically. If Mirat changes any administration fee, members will receive reasonable notice before the revised fee becomes effective. The latest version of the Fee Schedule will be published on the Mirat website.
10. Transparency: Mirat is committed to transparent royalty administration. Members may request clarification regarding any administration fee or deduction shown on their royalty statement.
11. Reinvestment in the Music Community: Mirat reinvests part of its own administration income—not members’ royalties—to support the long-term development of Kurdish music and the wider creative sector. This may include grants, artist development, education, research, cultural preservation, archival initiatives, and other projects approved by Mirat.

12. Governing Law: This Fee Schedule forms part of the Mirat Membership Agreement and shall be governed by and interpreted in accordance with the laws of England and Wales. Any dispute relating to this Fee Schedule shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
